  • This plant comes in the form of long, smooth and green pods. It is also called “French bean”.
  • It was first discovered in South and Central America more than 7,000 years ago.
  • Then its production developed after that; To become one of the most widely used types of plants and vegetables.
  • Green beans are an important source of many vitamins and minerals.
  • It also contains iron, calcium, magnesium, sodium, zinc, and others.
  • Due to its beneficial nutrients, it contributes to the treatment of many diseases and problems of the heart and bones, among others.

Green beans need a set of basic requirements to grow them inside a greenhouse, including:

  • Planting should be done in a moderately sunny area.
  • The soil should be prepared for agriculture, and it is preferable that it has been previously fertilized to produce other crops.
  • Having a temperature of 75:60% Fahrenheit; As low temperatures will lead to weak flower growth processes.
  • The humidity should range between 60:50%, because its excess can lead to the spread of diseases and the failure of pollination.

  • The salinity should not be more than 6.8:5.5, as green beans are a plant that is very sensitive to salinity.

As for the irrigation requirements that this plant needs, they are as follows:

It remains to point out that there are some pests that usually infect the green bean crop, and they need to be treated and dealt with directly if they appear; These include anthracnose, alternate leaf spot, black root rot, bean rust..etc. Some pests, especially deep ones, may cause stunted growth and leaf fall, and thus plant death.
